We have now reached that time of year again when our AGM comes on to the agenda. 

As has been the case in recent years, the AGM will be held in the Crumlin Bowling Pavilion on the last Monday of this month i.e. 22 February commencing at 8pm.  Please make a  note of this date. As this is normally the only opportunity for members to meet up together (and take decisions on the running of your Club) please make a special effort to attend.  

Among the items to be covered at the meeting will be - 

the Chairman’ s report for last year

the Treasurer’s report;

work in progress and planned;

election of new committee; and

the appointment of a new Treasurer. 

The Pavilion will be open from 7.30 pm to facilitate the payment of members’ subscriptions which remain unchanged from last year; namely £20 for senior members and £5 for juniors.   

The Club Committee is aware of and very much regrets that a number of members did not receive an acknowledgement of, nor receipt for, their cheques in respect of last year’s subscriptions.  Indeed a number of cheques still remain uncashed.  This  was due to the unfortunate illness of our Treasurer who, regrettably, has now resigned from the position.  In order to deal with this situation and, as a measure of goodwill to those affected, the Committee will be returning last year’s (uncashed) cheques to those concerned.  Hopefully, this ’free year’ will make up for last year’s difficulties but, if any other member has experienced a problem in this regard, the Committee will look sympathetically at his case individually.   

In conclusion, I would like to stress the importance for the Committee to receive ‘feedback’ from members as to how the Club is performing and what improvements, if any, need to be carried forward.  This is your Club and the Committee needs your input on the best way forward.  I look forward to seeing you on 22 February.  Tight lines and best wishes for the new season.
